We are seeking an Event Executive to deliver manner of events, from webinars and conference attendance to booth stands and event sponsorships. It’s an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic marketing team in a highly innovative organisation that works at the cutting edge of science and technology.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and 2+ years’ events and/or marketing experience, ideally in a B2B organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the role will suit a proactive individual who enjoys being a team member, and is comfortable interacting with high-intelligent, articulate colleagues.

You will need to have experience in event planning. You also will need to have a basic understanding of the company marketing campaigns, the market sectors they are targeting and ensure events are on plan, in budget, approved and tracked within the budget and event plan.

To be successful in this position, you should understand the role the events you organise plays within a wider business context and have a focus on delivering seamless events that have a high impact by and ensuring best practice follow activity occurs in a timely manner to drive the delivery of good ROI for each event you arrange.

The most important quality is to be organised with a keen interest in planning events and conferences. You will be in a busy environment with competing priorities, this must not affect the quality of your output.

The role can be based in Harston, Cambridge or Epsom, Surrey, and the successful candidate will be happy to travel to the Group’s other UK locations from time to time.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for events and conferences to include:
• Event research, monitoring, calendar management and budget tracking
• Liaising with event organisers
• Liaising with the marketing team to maintain the event calendar
• Liaising with event attendees and providing them all the event information they need
• Booking events – including raising PO’s and getting internal approval
• Working closely with our marketing team to establish marketing communications and marketing material needs for each event and working with the marketing team to ensure they are delivered as planned
• Managing event logistics and shipping
• Facilitating post-event follow-up, conducting event review meetings and preparing ROI reports to discuss with the marketing team and event attendees
• CRM database entry and maintenance
• Be willing to support the sales team in their follow up activities
• Liaising with administrative colleagues for hotel booking, flights, etc
• Ensure the events program impact is maximized and proves ROI to the wider business
As part of the wider marketing team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the company’s general marketing activity and support other team members as necessary such as ordering branded merchandise and stationery, PowerPoint presentation support, coordinating magazine and directory subscriptions, updating internal marketing comms document, maintaining the marketing intranet area etc.

Qualities & Qualifications
• 2+ years’ Marketing experience
• Good organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A structured, methodical approach to your work, with excellent organisation skills and the ability to work with others to achieve shared goals
• Ability to multi-task and operate effectively and efficiently under pressure in a fast-moving environment
• Excellent working use of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Good attention to detail
• A desire to learn
• Ready and able to exercise initiative
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines
• An eye for booth and graphic design
• Commercially minded with great business acumen
• Self-motivated and a positive team-player attitude

Desirable experience:
• Previous experience in an events management or similar role, ideally in a B2B environment
• A demonstrable track record in planning and delivering multiple events each month, achieving excellent results against demanding time and workload
• Experienced and confident with both face-to-face and digital events
• Experience of GoTo Webinar or similar networking platforms
• Experience of SalesForce or similar CRM system, would be advantageous
