Digitally connected worker – technology opportunities
Our client asked:
Our client was rolling out digital connectivity as part of a wider group programme – key value-generating opportunities were linked to improved operational excellence and safety alongside cost savings. They asked, ‘How do we address the technology, organisational and cultural challenges that stand in the way of the fulfilment of the potential value of digital connectivity?’
The project story:
Sagentia Innovation devised a strategy for optimum digital connectivity rollout as well as a longer-term vision for optimisation and automation.
- This was enabled by:
- The identification, technical assessment and prioritisation of technology solutions across devices, tools and equipment
- Definition of impact on key use case workflows – on an individual and collective basis – incorporating best practices and state-of-the-art decision-making process
- A thorough engagement of the workforce as part of the capturing of implementation and integration risks
Results: deliverables and outcomes
We provided recommendations on technologies that would bring tangible benefits for the client operations and HSE in terms of improved communications on platforms and with onshore locations, process automation and optimisation and improved personnel traceability.
We designed a pilot to roll out the technologies and implement measures to mitigate identified risks. We devised processes associated with new workflows enabled by new digital connectivity solutions.
