Pre-funding / pre-spinout

We can work with you to help generate the data to support your business model and technology validity in advance of fundraising. Our clients are typically academic groups who have not yet formed a company but rely on academic grant funding, or early stage bootstrapping start-ups. Project work at this stage is focused on opportunity discovery and initial technology feasibility testing.

Early stage funding

Having understood the status of the technology, we can assist you in developing robust but flexible product development plans to present to investors to support early stage fundraising. We also take part in industrial consortia as appropriate. Following seed funding, we can help you further demonstrate product feasibility through concept generation and proof of principle prototyping and testing.  At the same time, we help to demonstrate commercial attractiveness through user research and intellectual property analysis.

First round funding

Having worked with you to test and prove your product, we can then provide full turnkey product development services, from detailed design, through to full prototyping.  At every stage along the way, focus is driven by funding milestones and our commercially pragmatic team will help you to manage investor expectations.  Our advisory team can also support you in determining your approach to commercialisation and exit to help achieve the best long-term outcome to meet their goals.

Second and further round funding

During 2nd/Series B and further funding rounds, our work is focused on growing your operational capabilities or helping you to formalize your quality system, integrate knowledge into your growing internal team, source a contract manufacturer and transfer the design to manufacture. Work here includes verification and validation testing, evaluating cost models, supporting manufacturing ramp-up and advising on manufacturing processes. We also ensure you have a flexible and transferable quality system.
